Letter from Mary Lou Falcone VOICES of FAITH Advisory Council Chair
Having just experienced the 25th anniversary celebration of Siena House and having seen the extraordinary work being done there, it’s a pleasure to share with you that Sister Mary Doris has been selected to be one of the four key speakers at the March 8, 2016 Voices of Faith (www.voicesoffaith.org) event in Rome at the Vatican. Sister Mary has been asked to speak about the work of Siena House over the last 25 years, including the Carnegie Hall Lullaby project.
Voices of Faith, now entering its third year, hosts a yearly event at the Vatican, always on International Women’s Day, March 8, to showcase women of faith who are doing extraordinary work around the world from helping the poor to help themselves, to saving those being sold into slavery, to negotiating for victims of kidnapping, to any number of unspeakable abuses happening throughout the world. By bearing witness to these women and their stories, the aim is to spotlight the good that is being done and to affirm that ALL VOICES COUNT! In addition to the invitation only event inside the Vatican on March 8, 2016, the entire event will be streamed worldwide and will have major media coverage.
At this time of giving thanks for Siena House and for Sister Mary and her colleagues, it is especially poignant to remember our friends at Siena House and to help them in any way that each of us can contribute.
